Bowdon gardeners at Vicarage Lane are donating surplus fruit and vegetables to residents with the support of St Luke’s Church.
Linda Woods, who helps co-ordinate the donations at the church, said: "The allotment people are so kind and generous.
Beyond the donation scheme, the gardeners maintain a community plot open to all, cultivate pollinator-friendly flowers, and run educational sessions with Bollin Primary School.
Mr Anderson said: "Our allotments are a great local educational resource, with reception class pupils visiting to help dig up potato plants and try planting their own seeds.
Cllr Keleigh Glenton, Trafford Council’s executive member for community safety and civil contingencies, praised the Bowdon volunteers.
