'Improved and modern' cricket pavilion and cafe proposed in Chadwell Heath park

The pavilion in St Chad's Park could get a new lease of life after an official planning application was submitted by Be First, the development arm of Barking and Dagenham Council.
The pavilion is home to Aztecs Cricket Club, founded in 1986, under a long-term lease.
The planning statement said the proposal directs investment towards an "established community sports facility" that has "long been central to local recreation and participation in the borough" for many years.
"The provision of a modest ancillary café provides a beneficial on-site amenity that supports visitors and cricket players, while remaining secondary to the pavilion's established community use."
An emphasis was also placed on clear signage, pointing park users in the direction of the cricket pavilion and cafe space.
