Dorset Police says the crimes can have serious consequences for agricultural businesses at a crucial time of year.
READ: Police crackdown on illegal poaching with Op GalileoA new crackdown, named, Operation Galileo, will see officers from Dorset Police’s Rural Crime Team work with partners and colleagues across the force to build on previous efforts to protect agricultural land and tackle those responsible.
The operation focused on rural areas of east and north Dorset, where poaching reports are most prevalent.
"Our rural communities deserve to feel safe and supported, which is why I continue to back the work of Dorset Police’s Rural Crime Team and invest in policing that protects those living and working across our county."
