It must be said that the majority of left-leaning Americans are scratching their heads as much as anyone else in watching this unfold. Because most homegrown Americans are perfectly content to sit their rear ends in their La-Z-Boys on election day and do little more than observe the results…and then predictably complain about them vociferously afterward. There is no doubt Americans are sick and tired of the partisanship and the resulting ineffectiveness we have observed in our government over the last quarter century. Americans are going to have to get out of their La-Z-Boys and become re-engaged and re-energized regarding having a hand in choosing the direction this nation will go. Both of the parties are watching the numbers underpinning their support erode as more and more Americans label themselves as independent voters, not automatically or arbitrarily aligned with either side.
