A thrilling promotion battle went to the final over as Barnards Green secured victory with five balls to spare at North End Lane. However, Barnards Green opener Ryan Tongue produced a match-winning knock with the bat as the home side reached 264-7 in the final over the match. The result means Droitwich sit third in the Worcestershire County League Division One table, 16 points behind Barnards Green who occupy the final promotion place. And a flurry of wickets saw Barnards Green slip from 127-1 to 177-5 as Max Young (3-55) and Sherzad ripped through the home side’s middle order.
