The dual carriageway Remains closed both directions between junction 2 on the M27 and the A338 in Ringwood following a vehicle fire which spread into more than 100 hectares of heathland. Due to current wind direction the are concerns that fire could spread. The road has been closed since Sunday afternoon after a van caught fire and set ablaze the nearby area. National Highways said teams have assessed the damage caused by the fire and significant repairs are required to the road surface, road safety barrier and boundary fencing. Hampshire County councillor Nick Adams-King said Tuesday morning a five-mile water pipeline from Hightown Lake near Ringwood remains in operation which is supplying approximately 1,300 litres of water per minute.
