The New ERP Battleground: Supply chain intelligence
['Bridget Mccrea']
Logistics Management News
The supply chain management (SCM) space has become a focal point for many ERPs over the last few years.
Long-time supply chain analyst Dwight Klappich, principal at DK Advascent, used to explain this to me using a car analogy.
“Companies like IFS are building out some cool supply chain capabilities largely around planning, but also extending across different parts of supply chain as well,” Abbabatulla says.
Abbabatulla sees that as part of a broader shift from depth in one process cluster (a group of related supply chain functions, like demand planning, supply planning and inventory planning) to breadth across several adjacent ones.
Supply chain planning applications will grow even faster, reaching $7.6 billion by 2028, up from $4.9 billion in 2023.
