GMP confirmed that the 23-year-old, who was still in training, was detained in his personal vehicle while off-duty after the chase on the motorway. Officers traced the suspected vehicle and a police chase began, which eventually led to the car being stopped. The man was arrested in West Yorkshire on suspicion of kidnap, rape, and dangerous driving, and he remains in custody for questioning. The force said the woman, who is in her 20s, was safeguarded at the scene and is being supported by specialist officers and support agencies. GMP has suspended the officer and made a voluntary referral to the Independent Office for Police Conduct.
