The Harrow Nature Conservation Forum has received a £124,743 grant from The National Lottery Heritage Fund to support the restoration of Bentley Priory. Bentley Priory is Harrow’s only biological Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) and is home to important man-made structures, including a Georgian obelisk and a World War II pillbox. A spokesperson for the Harrow Nature Conservation Forum said: "This project will stabilize a Georgian obelisk and a World War II pillbox on site that would otherwise continue to lose bricks. "Harrow Nature Conservation Forum needs new blood, and we hope that the interest generated by this project brings in new volunteers to help us maintain this and other sites in the borough." Updates on the project will be shared on Harrow Nature Conservation Forum’s website as the work progresses.
