Gay men were reportedly targeted in another anti-LGBTQ attack in Manhattan, where two men were allegedly punched and kicked after being subjected to homophobic slurs and other anti-LGBTQ remarks.
GLAAD’s Anti-LGBTQ Extremism Reporting Tracker, known as the ALERT Desk, documented 1,042 anti-LGBTQ incidents across 47 states and Washington, D.C., during 2025.
More than half of the incidents recorded in 2025, or 532, specifically targeted transgender and gender-nonconforming people.
GLAAD recorded 268 anti-LGBTQ incidents in June 2025 alone, nearly four times the 54 incidents documented during June 2022, when the organization began collecting this data.
That does not mean every incident recorded by GLAAD was a physical assault.
