Lewisburg - Daniel Carlisle McDavitt, 78, passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, on Aug. 6, 2026. After retiring, Dan returned to Lewisburg, where he enjoyed raising bees, tending an extensive garden, and caring for a small orchard. In one of his final conversations, when asked what tradition he most hoped to pass on to his family, Dan answered simply: "Take the opportunity to help somebody." He was preceded in death by his parents, Basil Carlisle McDavitt and Ethel Mae Pardoe McDavitt. If you wish to honor Dan's life, do so in the way he taught his family to live: take the opportunity to help somebody.
