Abhijit Nath, NET Correspondent, TripuraAgartala, August 11, 2026: The Tripura government has been honoured by the Centre for its sustained efforts towards transparent and technology-driven public procurement through the Government e-Marketplace (GeM).
The state received the recognition under the ‘GeM Sustained Adoption’ category at the 10th anniversary celebration of GeM held at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi on Tuesday.
Tripura was recognised for the steady increase in government procurement through the GeM platform and the efforts of state buyers to make greater use of the portal for government purchases.
The recognition highlights Tripura’s growing adoption of GeM across various departments and reflects the state government’s efforts to promote greater transparency, efficiency and value for money in public procurement.
The state government said it would continue to strengthen the use of GeM across government departments, with a focus on ensuring efficient and transparent procurement through digital platforms.
