Adobe has released Lightroom Classic 15.5, enabling you to save photos as new DNG (Digital Negative) files with all current edits permanently applied. Using the Render to DNG option creates a new file that captures your current edits as a permanent snapshot (rendering it to TIFF inside a DNG container) where all edits are locked in, including masking, lens profiles, Lens Blur, and more from the Edit panel. The desktop-focused photo cataloging and editing app now allows you to adjust new Feather and Edge controls when masking photos; enables you to view cropped-out areas by adjusting the photo’s opacity for more precise cropping; enhances photos shot with newly added GoPro camera models and GoPro, Laowa, and SIGMA lenses; fixes a bug that caused videos imported from a NAS drive to appear upside down; and addresses excessive memory usage when using the Faces panel in Assisted Culling.
