PowerPhotos 3.4.3
['Agen Schmitz']
TidBITS
In July, Fat Cat Software released version 3.4.2 of PowerPhotos, improving compatibility with the public beta of macOS 27 Golden Gate.
The Photos library manager addressed a problem where the My Albums folder had stopped appearing in the album list when running Golden Gate, and updated how PowerPhotos handles a new Photos data permission prompt in Golden Gate (which could prevent the display of which of your Photos libraries was active).
It also corrected a crash that could occur when choosing the Add to Album menu item in some libraries, sorted out a long delay that occurred when opening a library, ensured the inspector content no longer gets pushed under the window’s toolbar when the window is too short, and fixed a crash that could occur when selecting a folder in the album list in a merge preview.
Two weeks later, version 3.4.3 update replaces generic error alerts with detailed reasons, adds New Album and New Folder commands to the contextual menu in the album list, selects right-clicked photos before showing the contextual menu, features much more efficient handling of old iPhoto and Aperture libraries, improves video duplicate detection, updates searches without needing to press Return, and fixes a crash that could occur if a library was closed or removed while it was being indexed.
