On July 31, the Tulare County District Attorney’s Office confirmed it had received Guerrero’s case and assigned it to an attorney for potential prosecution. “The case has come into our office and has been assigned an attorney,” a member of the DA’s office told the Valley Voice. Considering Guerrero’s case is now in the hands of an attorney and awaiting potential prosecution in Tulare County, Guerrero being in Mexico could complicate a potential prosecutorial process. For the time being, the DA office will do what’s called a preliminary review of Guerrero’s case. In addition, victims can contact Victim Services main phone number, 559-636-5471 for North County, and 559-701-2020 in South County, including the city of Tulare.
