Uttarakhand: A Japanese woman travelled all the way from her hometown to Bageshwar in Uttarakhand to fulfil her late husband’s last wish.
The woman, Miyako, came to Bageshwar carrying her husband Robert’s ashes and performed the final rituals before immersing his ashes in the Saryu River.
Robert developed a special connection with Bageshwar and once told Miyako that he wanted his ashes to be immersed in the Saryu River.
With the help of local guides and priests, Miyako reached the confluence of the Saryu and Gomti rivers and performed the final rituals before immersing Robert’s ashes.
Bageshwar is a prominent pilgrimage town known for the confluence of the Saryu and Gomti rivers.
