(San Marcos) — A 32-year-old man is dead and another man is behind bars following an early morning shooting in Guadalupe County. The Guadalupe County Sheriff’s Office says deputies were dispatched at approximately 1:58 a.m. Sunday to a report of shots fired in the 5000 block of Crossover Road in San Marcos. While deputies were responding, additional callers reported hearing multiple gunshots and seeing a man lying in the driveway of a residence. San Marcos police officers arrived first and found 32-year-old Sergio Raynaldo Mata suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Investigators with the sheriff’s office Criminal Investigations Bureau and a crime scene technician processed the scene and interviewed multiple witnesses.
