According to the proposal, the development could involve the construction of additional railway tracks, loop lines and other supporting infrastructure at Malkajgiri. The concept of developing Malkajgiri Junction as a second terminal for the Hyderabad Division is not new and was originally mooted several years ago. However, owing to various administrative considerations, the plan was subsequently shifted to Charlapalli, where terminal development has been taken up.
