(Seguin) — A Seguin husband and wife were killed Thursday when their small airplane crashed near the Bogalusa Airport in southeastern Louisiana.
According to WWL-TV in Louisiana, the victims have been identified as 68-year-old William “Bill” Day and his wife, 69-year-old Tommie Day, both of Seguin.
The television station reports the Beech H35 aircraft crashed in a wooded area off airport property at approximately 10:48 a.m. Thursday.
Firefighters reportedly had to cut through a locked gate to reach the crash site and extinguish the fire.
WWL-TV reports that the Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office says small aircraft frequently stop at the Bogalusa Airport for fuel, but it’s not yet known what led to Thursday’s crash.
