Road Safety Camera Vans will be in operation on the A5086 in West Cumbria as well as the B5305 between Wigton and Catterlan and in the Cockermouth area. Speed camera vans will also be operating in Dalston; Welton, Durdar, Cumwhinton and on the A6 between Carlisle and Penrith. Cumbria Constabulary deploys speed camera vans to accident hotspots, identified using the Road Harms Index. Cumbria is one of the constabularies across the country that is working towards Vision Zero - a national ambition to eliminate fatalities and serious injuries on the road network by 2040.
