Dexter, a German Shepherd crossbreed, has been adopted by a priest after 329 days at Dogs Trust Evesham.
Father Martin said: "Dexter has settled in brilliantly and has become part of the family so quickly.
Dexter had previously been reserved for a family; however, this adoption fell through shortly before he was set to be rehomed.
Chris Slight, manager at Dogs Trust Evesham, said: "Dexter has come such a long way since he first arrived with us.
"Seeing him settle so well with Father Martin and Nandi was so special, and we couldn't be happier for him."
