Lake District hiker taken to West Cumberland Hospital after fall on Low Fell

Cockermouth Mountain Rescue (MRT) mobilised its full team of 15 for the incident at 3.10pm on Saturday August 8.
The hiker had slipped and injured their ankle whilst descending the fell, requiring a stretcher evacuation, pain relief and a splint.
After being sledged back down to the team vehicles, the casualty was handed over to the North West Ambulance Service for onward transport to West Cumberland Hospital.
A spokesperson for Cockermouth MRT said: "The Team wishes the casualty a speedy recovery."
It was incident 68 of the year so far for Cockermouth MRT, taking 3.5 hours.
