Traverse City, Michigan - Gretchen Elaine Campbell, age 72, of Traverse City Michigan passed away peacefully into the loving arms of Jesus Christ on Friday, July 31, 2026 after a tenacious battle with esophageal cancer. While earning her degree in Elementary Education from Michigan State University, Gretchen developed a passion for adventure that continued after graduation. Gretchen was introduced to the love of her life Mark Campbell on a blind date. They married on April 12, 1986 and they moved up to Traverse City where she started her teaching career. She leaves behind her husband of 40 years Mark "Angus" Campbell, her daughters Kelsey (Josh) Foster and Kimberly Campbell.
