McAlester, Oklahoma - Yvonne Joanne (Freeburg) Wallis, 87, of McAlester, passed away Wednesday, July 29, 2026, in McAlester. Rodney Briggs officiating with a eulogy by Michael Wallis. Pallbearers will be Michael Wallis, Liam Wallis, Hugh Graham, Ron Hays, Daniel Trent and Patrick WallingHonorary pallbearers will be, Billy Freeburg, Matthew Freeburg, Johnnie Freeburg and Eric Freeburg. Yvonne was born to Wayne Gaylen and Wilda M. (Morgan) Freeburg on May 6, 1939, in Longmont, Colorado. After retirement Yvonne served on the McAlester Library Advisory Board, Trustee on the Southeastern Public Library System's Board and treasurer of the Friends of the Library of McAlester.
