With a resolution affirming the July vote of 4-2 in favor of a dissolution commission, the Applegate Village Council appointed the village’s representatives to the commission at their August 3rd meeting. Applegate residents James Cuppen, Jennifer Kandler and Robert Szolack were appointed as the village’s representatives to the dissolution commission. They will be joined by three appointees from Washington Township, with those members to be appointed at next week’s township meeting. Washington Township deemed the petition sufficient on Tuesday, June 2, following review and verification of the petition’s signatures. The disincorporation commission, made up of three residents of Washington Township and three residents representing the village, will be responsible for determining and adopting a disincorporation plan for the village.
