Kazakhstan's 24 investment agreements to add 3.8 GW in energy capacity

Kazakhstan is implementing 24 investment agreements covering energy projects with a combined capacity of 3.8 GW.
According to the ministry, nine investment agreements with a combined capacity of 963 MW have been implemented to date.
Kazakhstan plans to commission more than 8 GW of additional renewable energy capacity by 2035, according to the ministry.
This modernization is being carried out alongside the expansion of renewable energy and the development of a more flexible power system.
As of the second quarter of 2026, Kazakhstan had 169 renewable energy facilities with a combined installed capacity of about 3.75 GW.
