Ca Mau launches 96 million USD wind power project

Ca Mau (VNA) – Work on construction of a wind power plant began in Khanh Hung commune, the southernmost province of Ca Mau, on August 11.
The project which has a designed capacity of 50MW, will cover around 600ha of sea and land areas, with total investment estimated at 2.5 trillion VND (96 million USD).
Pham Minh Tri, General Director of Song Lam - Ca Mau Energy JSC, said the plant is expected to generate an average of 144 million kWh of electricity annually once completed.
Ca Mau, bordered by the seas on three sides, has significant potential for wind power development.
Since the beginning of the year, Ca Mau has commenced three wind power projects with combined investment of more than 10 trillion VND.
