This recent video for Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve passed me by, but it's quite unlike anything else Bandai Namco has released about the upcoming game. It's a trailer that's all about showcasing a number of aircraft you'll be able to pilot when the flight action game launches on 2nd October, and it reminds me of Gran Turismo's unique reverence for cars. There's a clear love for these vehicles coming through that puts me in mind of Polyphony Digital's obsessive attitude towards cars, always painting them in the best light. Obviously, a big difference between Ace Combat and Gran Turismo is that the latter is a simulator while the former is not. It's a really nice video that not only shows off a handful of planes, it's also a reminder that AC8 is a looker; it's quite a step up from Ace Combat 7, with more detailed environments and some amazing-looking skies.
