Roanoke, VA - John David Slemons, known lovingly as John, was born on January 18, 1931, in Lewistown, Pennsylvania, a son of the late Ralph and Virona Slemons, and passed away on August 6, 2026, in Roanoke, Virginia, after a long illness. John made his home in Roanoke, Virginia, for 21 years, and he also lived in Ocala, Florida, after moving there in October of 1993. In addition to his parents John is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Norma Lee Slemons, a son David Slemons, as well as his sister, Elsie Longwell, and his brothers, Samuel Slemons and Peter Slemons. John David Slemons will be remembered with gratitude, affection, and respect, and his life will continue to inspire those who were blessed to know him. A graveside service will take place for John on Tuesday August 11, 2026, at 1:00pm in Sunset Memorial Park, Beckley.
