Man remanded for alleged theft of electric cable at UITHBy Fatima Mohammed-LawalIlorin, Aug. 11, 2026 (NAN) An Upper Area Court Grade I in Ilorin has remanded one Fawas Olodun at the Oke-Kura Correctional Centre over an alleged criminal trespass and theft at the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital (UITH). Ojebola said he was in his farm within the UITH premises when the suspect approached him and requested a hoe to dig a rabbit hole. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that earlier in the court, the defendant pleaded guilty to the allegation of theft. According to him, the offences is contrary to the provisions of Sections 348 and 287 of the Penal Code Law. The court subsequently remanded the defendant at the Oke-Kura Correctional Centre, Ilorin, and adjourned the case to Sept. 28, for continuation of hearing to enable the prosecution assemble its witness.
