Blue Earth City Administrator Dawn Collins updated the City Council on Monday on several community activities and upcoming projects. Collins reported City Hall welcomed 11 students participating in the American Exchange Program, along with four Blue Earth Area students, on July 28th. The group learned about local government, city operations and what make Blue Earth unique before touring a police squad car and fire truck. She also told the council the city pool has developed multiple leaks that will be evaluated over the next couple of weeks. Collins said available funding for capital projects is expected to be limited, meaning the council will need to prioritize projects during a special budget work session scheduled for August 31st.
