Students at Richmond's Kennedy High School are scheduled to return to class one week from Tuesday, but they still do not know where they will begin the school year.
The uncertainty comes after tetrachloroethylene (PCE), a toxic chemical, was discovered in soil beneath the campus during the summer.
In a recent social media update, the school's principal said additional testing has been completed and preliminary results are expected by Thursday.
The West Contra Costa Unified School District is hosting two forums Tuesday to answer questions from students and families.
The district is also expected to provide an update during Wednesday's Board of Education meeting.
