The Prince Rupert Gas Transmission Project (PRGT) has awarded offshore contractor Allseas a contract to install the project’s subsea pipeline, marking another milestone for the proposed pipeline that will connect Canadian natural gas to the Ksi Lisims LNG export facility.
According to Western LNG, Allseas was selected because of its expertise in offshore pipeline installation and marine construction.
Scott said protecting marine ecosystems, traditional harvesting areas, salmon and marine mammals remains one of the project’s highest priorities.
This is one of the highest priorities, environmental priorities of our project,” she said.
Western LNG says construction on PRGT is expected to restart early next year, with the pipeline targeted for completion around 2030.
