The Van Buren District Library’s Lawrence Branch will host a Health and Safety Rodeo this month. The library says the event will take place alongside the Lawrence Farmers Market in Lawrence Park and will feature several local organizations offering health and safety information and demonstrations. Lawrence Emergency Services will give away fire alarms and offer tours of fire trucks and other emergency vehicles. Bronson Hospital will provide a child passenger safety demonstration, while Lawrence Community Care will offer blood pressure and blood sugar screenings. Other participating organizations include the Van Buren Intermediate School District’s Early Childhood Development programs, Southwest Michigan Hearing Services, and Family Bound, which will provide information on foster care and other resources.
