St. Joseph City Commissioners have given a major boost to the Marquette on Lake Boulevard residential and commercial development being planned downtown. Commissioners on Monday approved a development agreement for the project to complete the city’s sale of the property at Broad Street and Lake Boulevard to developer the Rienks Group. The commission last year approved a sales agreement for the site, but this lays out the requirements the Rienks Group must follow to close the sale. The Rienks Group is purchasing the city owned parking lot as well as an adjacent privately-owned lot for the Marquette. We asked Peter Rienks of the Rienks Group if they’re ready to go.
