Asian champion South Korea advanced to the round of 16 at the 2026 FIVB U-17 Women's Volleyball World Championship.
South Korea, coached by Lee Seung-yeo, defeated the Dominican Republic 3-1 (25-18, 21-25, 25-19, 25-17) in its fourth Group D match Monday in Los Andes, Chile.
Outside hitter Son Seo-yeon, nicknamed "Little Kim Yeon-koung," led South Korea with a team-high 23 points.
The teams split the opening two sets before South Korea took control in the third.
Another service error by the Dominican Republic ended the fourth set and sealed South Korea's fourth consecutive victory.
