Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic has pledged support for Ukraine’s bid to join the European Union, saying Belgrade will not seek to hinder Kyiv’s progress toward membership. Vsevolod Chentsov, Ukraine’s Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration, expects the remaining negotiating clusters to be opened this autumn. Zelensky reaffirmed that Ukraine’s position on Kosovo has not changed and that Kyiv continues to respect Serbia’s territorial sovereignty. He also noted that Serbia’s position on Ukraine’s territorial integrity had remained unchanged, including at the United Nations General Assembly. The statements underscored the diplomatic balance between Belgrade and Kyiv, with Serbia expressing support for Ukraine’s European integration while Kyiv continues to reject Kosovo’s unilateral independence in line with Serbia’s position on the issue.
