The RCMP Musical Ride is coming to the Cowichan Valley on Saturday.
The event features a troop of up to 32 riders, all police officers, performing intricate formations and drills on horseback set to music.
The RCMP describes the Musical Ride as a symbol of tradition, honour and pride, as well as a Canadian icon.
“The Musical Ride supports front-line police operations by building positive relationships, supporting recruiting efforts and promoting the RCMP’s image in communities in Canada and around the world,” said a statement from the RCMP.
The Musical Ride performs in as many as 50 communities each year and visits each province approximately once every four years.
