Alberta is launching a new information hub and a series of public town halls as the province moves forward with plans to build large-scale artificial intelligence data centres. In-person sessions are also planned for Ponoka on August 19, Sturgeon County on August 20 and Grande Prairie on September 11. The province says the sessions will give Albertans more information about data-centre development and opportunities to have their say. Alberta says its strategy has already attracted between $100 and $200 billion in potential private investment, including Meta’s more than $13-billion data centre in Sturgeon County, which is now under construction.
