FilmDale Dickey has spent decades quietly building one of the most respected careers in film and television, turning character roles into unforgettable performances.
This year, the actress was recognized with her first Emmy nomination for the AppleTV+ horror-comedy Widow’s Bay, where her sardonic character, Rosemary, became one of the series’ standouts.
When it became clear that Widow’s Bay was getting recognition, Dickey went online to look at the full list, checking Supporting Actress (Comedy), hoping to see that co-star Kate O’Flynn received a nod for her role as Patricia.
When the audition for Widow’s Bay came her way, Dickey knew immediately there was something special about the project.
“They said, ‘We’ve got this role, it’s a small cameo, but we really would like you in it,’” Dickey recalls.
