The number of Ukrainians began to increase in 2022 and has grown significantly during the years of the Russia-Ukraine war. While there were 27,826 Ukrainians in Estonia at the beginning of 2022, there are now three times as many. Of the Ukrainians living in Estonia, 53 percent are women and 47 percent are men. Between 2018 and 2026, the number of Latvians living in Estonia increased by 1,794. The number of Indians has also increased: while 1,431 Indians lived in Estonia in 2023, the figure had risen to 1,836 this year.
