A fire and explosions at a military production and storage facility near the village of Belitsa in Tryavna municipality led to the evacuation of all 300 workers at the site on Monday.
The facility is operated by private Bulgarian defense company EMCO, owned by businessman Emilian Gebrev.
Public documents do not establish the exact year in which the Belitsa production complex itself was built.
Its publicly listed product range includes artillery and tank ammunition, mortar ammunition, hand grenades and smoke-producing devices.
However, those circumstances do not establish a direct connection between the Belitsa site and the Vrbetice explosions.
