Tyler O’Neill slugged a two-run homer and Colton Cowser added a solo blast for Baltimore, which led 7-3 after four innings. Coby Mayo had three hits and Jackson Holliday, Leody Taveras and Cowser each contributed two hits. Povich was replaced by Yaramil Hiraldo (1-0) after allowing three runs on four hits with two walks and one strikeout over three innings. O’Neill added a two-run homer, a 425-foot shot, with one out in the sixth against Montgomery.
