Teardown expert Zack Nelson takes a very close look inside Samsung’s latest foldable after durability-testing it a few days earlier. The Galaxy Z Fold8 is not only more compact and wider, it is also supposed to be way more robust thanks to a dual titanium layer that JerryRigEverything is set to find. New this year is a titanium protective layer behind the AMOLED, which YouTuber Zack Nelson set out to investigate in his latest video. In his teardown, he’s unable to remove the Galaxy Z Fold 8’s glued-in flexible display without damaging it—definitely not a job for an inexperienced DIYer. As soon as repairs go beyond replacing the top plastic layer, they very quickly become very expensive.
