The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce announced that the Beninese singer will be honored on August 18, 2026, in the Recording category. The ceremony is scheduled to take place at 7011 Hollywood Boulevard, where Kidjo will receive the 2,854th star on the famous landmark. Kidjo will become the first African musician and the first Black African performer to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Kidjo has built an international career spanning Afropop, jazz, funk and world music, earning five Grammy Awards along the way. in 2026 with contributions from Pharrell Williams, Nile Rodgers, Quavo and other artists.
