Libya’s National Oil Corporation warned Tuesday that continued drone attacks targeting oil facilities in Zawiya could force it to halt the city’s refinery operations entirely and declare force majeure, Reuters reported, after three attacks were recorded Sunday and Monday. The latest strike targeted an oil-processing facility run by the Zawiya Oil Refining Company, where products are blended and packaged for the Libyan market. The incidents brought the number of reported drone attacks against oil assets in Zawiya to three over Sunday and Monday. The National Oil Corporation said further attacks could result in force majeure and a complete shutdown of the Zawiya refinery, which is currently Libya’s largest refinery still in operation. The facility is operated by the state-owned Zawiya Oil Refining Company under the National Oil Corporation.
