A recent data report has shared that sales figures of Sony’s Spider-Man sequel from 2023, Spider-Man 2, has seen a gigantic rise in players following the smash-hit success of Spider-Man Brand New Day where it is currently shattering box office records. The report comes from sales firm Alinea, and a post on X shows off the exact numbers of the game’s rise in popularity. The new Spidey movie has given a massive lift to Spider-Man 2 on PS5 and Steam (@alineaanalytics estimates)So far, Spider-Man 2 has sold another 316K copies since Brand New Day hit cinemas on 30 July, generating $11M+ across PS5 and Steam in under two weeks. Insomniac added a free update to the game recently that made Peter Parker’s suit from Brand New Day available to use in the game. The sudden attention to the game certainly creates a unified connection between Insomniac’s universe and the cinematic experience.
