BVI News understands that Nadia Demming-Hodge has been confirmed as Chief Immigration Officer after serving in the acting position for more than three years. She had been acting as Chief Immigration Officer since Ian Penn retired in December 2023. Before assuming that responsibility, she served as Deputy Chief Immigration Officer from 2021. During her acting tenure at the helm of the Immigration Department, Demming-Hodge oversaw several initiatives aimed at modernising immigration services. Demming-Hodge’s appointment means the Immigration Department now has a permanent Chief Immigration Officer after operating under acting leadership for more than three years.
