Add Us On Google Add as a preferred source on GoogleWAUSAU, Wis. (WSAW) - A free public dedication of a new Log Driver sculpture is set for Wednesday, Aug. 12, at 10 a.m. along River Edge Parkway. The 11.5-foot-tall bronze sculpture was created by sculptor Cory Clawson and depicts a log driver balancing atop floating logs with a pike pole. It honors generations of log drivers who helped build Wausau and Central Wisconsin during the late 1800s and early 1900s. Funding and constructionThe Walter Alexander Foundation and the Judd S. Alexander Foundation fully funded the sculpture and donated it to the City of Wausau. Jim Trzebiatowski of JAT Masonry Concrete completed the concrete foundation and site design.
