The Daytona Beach News-Journal has hired Rana Cash as executive editor, the publication announced on Monday. From 2010 to 2016 Cash worked for Sporting News as a deputy sports editor and senior editor. Following a stint at Savannah Morning News, Cash began a five-year run as Executive Editor of The Charlotte Observer. “Welcoming such an experienced leader of Rana’s caliber is a huge coup,” said Wendy Fullerton Powell, the VP & Region Editor of the USA TODAY Network-Florida Region. Cash takes the executive editor mantle from John Dunbar, who was named to the position in July 2022.
